LIFEGUARDING CERTIFICATION INFORMATION

 

Class Description & Pre-Requisites:

This class provides training in the skills to be proficient in lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid. At the end of this course each participant who passes the written and practical examinations will be presented with American Red Cross cards in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer (CPRFPR).

 

Participants must be 15 years of age on or before the start of the first class in order to receive certification. Students who are under 15 years of age may take the class for their own knowledge but will not receive certification. Participants must swim 500 yards continuously, using freestyle and breastroke. Participants must also be able to submerge to a minimum depth of 7 feet and retrieve a 10 lbs object, return to the surface, and swim with the object 20 yards using legs only within a 1 minute 45 second time span.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

This course will provide you with the skills and certifications needed to become a lifeguard including first aid, CPR-FPR, and introduction to oxygen and AED. ¥ Must be 15 yrs. old by the last day of class ¥ Must attend ALL classes. Clarke Memorial Swim Center. Fee: $200.00 (Books & Cert. Included)
