Minutes: Greg Wilson called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.

1)     The minutes for the April 14, 2008 meeting were unanimously approved.

2)     Update on CHOA Member Requested Items for 2008:

a)     Can the bicycle lane on Moraga road be used for parking during special events? (Irene) Ð Irene Gessling contacted a police officer who indicated that parking is allowed in the bike lane during weekends and special events. Instructions on the street signs must be followed during weekdays and school hours. Irene will summarize her findings in an email to Greg Wilson who will prepare a summary to be read at the annual CHOA meeting in January 2009. No further action needed.

b)     Talk to the Town about street lights on Campolindo Drive by the High School. (Irene) Ð Irene Gessling reported that the lights are not the responsibility of the town of Moraga. They are on land owned by the Acalanes Union High School District (AUHSD). It was decided that Irene will write a letter to the AUHSD supervisor requesting lights along Campolindo Drive from the intersection at Moraga Road to the west end of the baseball field.

c)     Consider increasing late fees on delinquent dues. (Brad) Ð Nothing reported

d)     Contact Town about cell phone connections in Campolindo. Can an additional cell tower be allowed? (Michelle) Ð Greg Wilson asked Michelle to provide a list of contact names, numbers, and addresses for ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Greg will send a letter on behalf of the CHOA to each provider requesting improved cell reception for our neighborhood and the high school.

e)     Put Landscape plan on Web site. (Jim) Issue was not discussed at this meeting.

f)      Talk to Town about road repair. Can this be done after the Moraga Road work is completed? ( Sandy) Nothing reported.

g)     Complete overall landscape plan and start to implement in 2008. (Mike and Jim) Prior to the meeting all board members, except Sandy Sanderson, met at the pool for an inspection of the facilities and grounds. Jim Cunnane identified the areas that need to be updated or repaired and presented the landscaping plans. Areas of concern include the exterior landscaping on the west and north sides of the pool including the main entrance and parking area along Campolindo Drive, most irrigation systems, poor drainage on the west end of the pool, lighting in and around the pool, cabinet repairs, and dry rot in the club house caused by a leaky roof. No decisions were made. A telescoping flagpole was purchased. Greg Wilson will contact Brad Ward and request that the pole be installed prior to Memorial Day weekend.

h)     Talk to town about what can be done about the water coming through the road at the base of Campolindo Drive. (Sandy) Nothing reported.

3)     Intersection of Calle La Montana and Campolindo Drive: Jim Cunnane reported that a mirror is not standard practice and the CHOA may be liable if one is installed. A petition would be needed to get a sign or mirror. The current stop sign at this intersection is faded. A new sign may help. Jim will talk to the two neighbors in this area about trimming their landscaping and will report back to the board at the next meeting.

4)     Pool Rules: Irene Gessling attended the swim team parent meeting and was disappointed that guest rules were not clearly communicated to the swim team families. Irene and Greg recommended that the guest rules be more clearly stated in the swim team packet next year.

5)     Potluck Rescheduled: The Neighborhood Potluck originally scheduled for May 17 is rescheduled to May 31st from 5:00-7:00.

6)     Location of June Board Meeting Changed: The June 9th meeting will be held at the home of Nazzi Nazeri at 32 Corte Mateo.

7)     New Business: Jim Cunnane trimmed growth around the flowering plum trees along the north side of Campolindo Drive, just west of Moraga Road. He discovered that the trees are infested with scales, a parasite that is harmful to the trees. Greg Wilson will ask Brad to direct the pool gardener to review the situation and remediate or offer an alternative solution.

Greg Wilson closed the meeting at 8:55 PM.
