Minutes

Bruce Whitley called the meeting to order at 7:34 pm.

  1. The minutes for the October 8th meeting were approved unanimously.
  2. Financial and Operations: Brad Ward presented the finance report. Brad also presented the proposed 2008 budget to the board. In the proposed budget, the pool and business managersÕ salaries would have a COLA (cost of living adjustment) increase according to the U.S. Labor Dept. BLS index for this area. There would also be a $1,500 increase to compensate the business manager for extra work he performs at the pool during the swim season.
  3. Landscaping: Jim Cunnane gave a presentation on the new proposed landscaping plan for the Cabana Club. Brad Ward reiterated his feedback on the plan and, after discussion, it was decided that Jim will meet with Brad and the landscape architect to address BradÕs concerns. There was also discussion about changing the existing 2 car parking space in front of the Cabana club during the new landscaping project.
  4. CHOA directories: Mike DeChenne informed the board that the new 2007 CHOA directories were printed and ready for distribution. The total cost of printing 500 directories was $897.00, and we were able to save money on the printing because Mike did the preparation and almost all of the layout work. The board members reviewed samples of the directory and there was discussion regarding the best way to distribute the directories. Nazzi and Irene volunteered to manage the distribution of the directories to the homeowners.
  5. Swim team: Irene gave a report on the progress of her subcommiteeÕs work on the guest member program for our swim team, followed by a general discussion about the guest member program, homeowner complaints and some of the problems that have happened with it such as guest members bringing guests to the pool.
  6. Bruce reminded the board that elections are coming up soon to replace the 3 board members who will be retiring from the board after this year Ð Bruce Whitley, Richard Hemmingway, and Steve Bartis. We need nominations for new board members, by the next board meeting to be held in December.

Bruce Whitley adjourned the meeting at 9:28 pm.
