CAMPOLINDO HOMEOWNER BOARD MEETING MINUTES
September 5, 2003
PRESENT:
Board Members: Anne Baker Paul Gessling Steve Gordon
Kevin Healy Bill Hossfeld Rick Larson
John McPhee Laura Woodman
Business Manager: Brad Ward
Homeowner: Cindy Barni
1. The minutes of the July 14, 2003 meeting were reviewed and approved as revised.
2. Cindy
Barni discussed the Campolindo Homeowners Association website. The content of the website appears to be
fine, but it needs to be more current.
The Board decided that the website should not require a password for any
level. The Board approved the
expenditure of $99 for a Frontpage upgrade.
3. Brad
Ward presented the financial report. He
noted that all but two homeowners (plus one long-standing delinquent homeowner)
have paid dues. The Board’s insurance
agent informed Brad that premiums for liability insurance have increased
significantly. Brad and the agent are
looking for better rates. Our current
liability insurance expires as of October 1.
Therefore, as of October 1, there will be no liability insurance until
we obtain a replacement policy. Brad
will inquire about a two-tier policy – one tier for summer and another tier for
winter, when the pool is closed.
4. With respect to pool maintenance, Brad noted that the fiberglass coating on the meter pool is starting to peel in the lane lines. Therefore, the pool needs to be replastered. Brad will provide quotes for this project at the next Board meeting. Brad noted that the pool will close on September 30. While the pool is closed, work will be done to improve the drains by the basketball court and behind the diving board.
5. Steve Gordon updated the Board on issues relating to Campolindo High School parking. The Board received a letter from Walter Barry dated September 1, 2003, in which Walter states that he has noticed no improvement over last year. Steve agreed that we should expect to see only a 20% improvement in the parking situation at this time. Steve noted that 15 to 20 additional spaces should open in February, which should provide additional relief. Moreover, this year’s incoming freshman class is 200 less than last year’s senior class. As enrollment drops, we should see an improvement in the parking situation. Steve took measurements on Moraga Road to determine whether parking would be possible between the south end of the bus stop and the theater. Steve concluded that there is enough space for parking along much of this segment. However, the Board would need to convince the Town to allow parking on this segment of Moraga Road.
6. John McPhee discussed a letter he received from a homeowner complaining about college kids who rent a house on Calle La Mesa. This is the second year in a row that the Board has received notice of problems with these renters. Rick Larson agreed to write a letter to the landlord to advice the landlord of this additional complaint.
7. The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
